“I am pleased to welcome GameStop to our City. This is another exciting development occurring in Derby along with the much anticipated opening of a brand new Lowes, and an already successful Starbuck’s to compliment our other retailers on New Haven Avenue.” Said Mayor Staffieri

GameStop opened its newest store at the site of a 1,722 square foot former bank building in Derby. The retail operation has already spent approximately $100,000 on complete interior and exterior renovations of the building. GameStop officially opened its doors on September 22, 2008.

“We are thrilled to have Gamestop here and with over 40,000 cars passing by, they have selected a very strategic, high visibility location. Gamestop has a loyal fan base from teens to senior citizens and we know they will continue to be successful here in Derby...” Said Sheila O’Malley, Econ. Dev. Director for Derby.
