Derby is a participating town in the annual MDC HazWaste Collection Day. The collection will take place in Ansonia at the Public Works Complex on North Division Street. You will have show proof of residency of either town. According to statistics, the average household has about 10 gallons of hazardous waste that, if improperly used or stored could jeopardize family health. Don't take a chance! If you have any of the following materials that you don't plan to use, drop them off for FREE disposal at this week's collection.

From the North

Þ    Take Route 8 South to Exit 17 (Seymour Avenue)

Þ    Take a left at the end of the ramp onto Seymour Avenue

Þ    Take first right onto Atwater Street

Þ    Continue for 1/4 mile and turn right onto Division Street

Þ    Pass the Stop & Shop Plaza and take the next left onto North Division Street

Þ    Continue straight into the City Complex and follow signs t o the collection

 

From the South

Þ    Take Route 8 North to Exit 16 (Pershing Drive / Ansonia)

Þ    The off ramp merges into Pershing Drive

Þ    Continue for 1/2 mile and turn right onto Division Street (Burger King is on the corner)

Þ    Pass the Stop & Shop Plaza and take the next left onto North Division Street

Þ    Continue straight into the City Complex and follow signs to the collection
